Kordsa puts into operation the USD 18 million worth additional polyester yarn line at İzmit plant
Kordsa inaugurated its additional polyester line in Turkey with an investment of USD 18 million in order to meet the increasing demand in the field.
Kordsa, providing reinforcement technologies to the global market, had announced a polyester yarn investment in both Indonesia and Turkey which would enable 7000 tons of additional capacity in each plant in 2016. Recently, Kordsa’s USD 18 million worth investment in İzmit became operational. With this new line, equipped with the latest technology, a new generation of polyester yarn products with higher resiliency and better dimensional stability will be produced in addition to the standard HMLS polyester yarn.
Kordsa Chairman Cenk Alper, wishing the line to be beneficial for Kordsa and the Sabancı Group, underlined that Kordsa's innovation strength is an inspiration for Sabancı Group. Kordsa CEO Ali Çalışkan emphasized that Kordsa is taking firm steps towards building a second Kordsa with the strategic investments in 3 business lines, and continued: “As the reinforcer of every one out of three automobile tires and every two out of three aircraft tires, we touch every corner of life thanks to our recent investments.
